February was another rough month for Realtor sales of existing homes in Marion county.

According to the Florida Association of Realtors, there were 181 Realtor sales of existing single-family homes during the month - 43 percent fewer than the number registered in February 2007.

No other metropolitan statistical area in Florida had a greater percentage dip.

The median sales price of those homes (half sold for more; half sold for less was $147,000, a 16 percent drop from last year's figure.

Statewide, the number of realtor sales in February was down 25 percent compared with the same month in 2007, and the median sales price was down 16 percent.
